Portland Dropped From CHL Top 10 After Tough Weekend

So the Portland Winterhawks were dropped from the BMO CHL regular season top 10 for the first time since the 2011-12 season this week after consecutive tough losses to Kelowna.

The Hawks were one of only 2 teams to not drop from out of the top 10 at any point during the 2012-13 CHL season (the other was Memorial Cup Champion Halifax Mooseheads).

To add insult to injury the 3-3-0-1 Winterhawks, were replaced in the top 10 by the Kelowna Rockets (6th).

Spokane, despite the fact that Portland beat them last week, moved up to 3rd with a 6-1 record and Seattle (6-2) was even mentioned honorably.

Other WHL teams in the top 10 were: Prince Albert (7th) and Swift Current (10th).
